This is the time of the year when everyone begins to make their New Year’s Resolutions. It is also the time of year that many others begin to mock those who are making these resolutions. Personally, I am not the “resolution” type. However, I understand the ideal behind making resolutions for a brand new year.
We are people of growth and change, and it would be abnormal if an individual did not desire to experience change in their lives from one year to the next. Even though I do not make New Year’s resolutions each year, I do set goals for myself and my family. I truly believe that if you fail to plan then you surely plan to fail.
The theme for myself and my church family on this year is: Year of Accomplishment. I have to say that I am excited and overjoyed by this theme because one of my strengths is that I love to achieve things in life. With that being said, the things that I want to achieve on this year are still somewhat of a mystery.
My last great achievement was the completion of my Ph.D. in January 2014. Now, I am being challenged to go to the next level in my personal and professional life. I have always loved a good challenge, but I would not be entirely truthful if I said I was not experiencing some feelings of fear and uncertainty.
Regardless of that fact, I have never been one to allow fear to overcome me. With that being said, I am accepting the challenges of this new year, and I am certain that I will come out on top.
One of the #1 things that I will be working on this year is completing my memoir. I have been working on it in bits and pieces and contemplating it for a few years now, and I believe that this would be the perfect year to complete that project. I believe that this year will be a great year for my writing, and I am going to flow with the momentum.
What are some of the things that you are seeking to accomplish on this year? What challenges are you anticipating? How will you overcome those challenges?
It is always a good idea to sit down and evaluate those things that you seek to accomplish in life so that you are better prepared. I am excited about this year, and I am looking forward to being able to share my accomplishments with you!
I will be praying for you as you pray for me on this year. I know that this is going to be a great year for us, and I encourage you to embrace the challenges on this year and forge ahead to accomplish all that you desire!
Please feel free to leave your comments. I would love to hear the goals that you have set for yourself on this year!
Happy New Year
